Special Educational Needs (S.E.N) transport

Special Educational Needs (S.E.N) Transport services represent the cornerstone of first4care's business.

Quality of Care - first4care is not a taxi company. We provide special education transport and firmly believe we have a duty of care and responsibility to provide suitably trained and qualified teams for the contracts we operate on behalf of the social services transport departments we serve.

Understanding Special Needs - Many of our passengers have severe learning difficulties, autism, aspergers syndrome, cerebral palsy and other physical or mental disabilities. first4care believes the services provided for our passengers should be of the highest quality, reliable and consistent. For example, people with autism aren't acustom to change so we'll provide the same vehicle with the same driver & escort travelling the same route in order to ensure consistency and relieve anxiety.

Assuring High Dependency Needs - Our High Dependency crews are fully trained to manage Epilepsy (administration of controlling drugs); manage Airways (Tracheostomy & Suctioning); provide Oxygen Therapy; operate Mic-Key button gastro feed; and handle Anaphylaxis (Epipen use).  Our dedication to providing the very best care begins with training and is enhanced through specialist work with individual care plans and each service user's nursing and support team.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to Investors in People and to developing our teams' skills such that we believe we have the best trained drivers and escorts delivering services we're proud of.

first4care wholeheartedly believes that our primary responsibility is to the care of our service users, much more than simply transporting them between home and school. first4care ostensibly offers mobile supportive care and we're very supportive of Councils establishing criteria for S.E.N transport to ensure that all S.E.N transport providers are of a consistent calibre to ensure a uniform provision of safety as well as aid the personal development of the service users.
